In the movie The Life of Chuck—a story by Stephen King, directed by Steven Spielberg—Chuck lives only 39 years. But what a life. Like all of us, he faced challenges. He lost his parents at seven and was raised by his grandparents. From his grandmother, he discovered the joy of dancing. From his grandfather, a love of math.
At the end of the film, without giving too much away, Chuck has a profound realization. He says:
“I will live my life until it runs out. I am wonderful. I deserve multitudes!”
Multitudes.
Can you imagine?
All the people you’ve met, the experiences you’ve had, the lessons you’ve learned—contained in one mind, one heart, one life? That’s not just a movie moment. That’s a challenge to each of us to honor our life’s story and use it.
I Can Relate to Chuck
My story includes a painful childhood, four corporate buyouts, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina wiping out my business, and my wife losing her mother and two aunts in quick succession. I lost my parents early in life and often felt alone—as the oldest of seven, I carried a heavy responsibility. One of my greatest joys, though, was helping each sibling rise, dream big, and trust the Lord with all their heart.
My faith became my anchor through every storm. It helped me turn adversity into empathy and pain into purpose. I’ve come to believe this deeply:
It’s not what happens to us that defines us—it’s how we choose to respond.
For Emerging Leaders: Who Can You Trust?
If you’re an emerging leader in a nonprofit, passionate about making a difference but unsure who to trust in a world full of politics and hidden agendas—you’re not alone. Many bright, committed individuals feel discouraged when the path to real leadership seems muddled. But leadership doesn’t have to be lonely.
You need someone who’s been through it. Someone who sees your potential and helps you shape it into impact.
For Those 55 and Over: You’re Not Done Yet
If you’re 55, 60, or beyond—and people are telling you, “Congrats on retiring! Go relax!”—you might be thinking something else entirely:
“Wait a minute. I still have energy. I have experience. I have gifts and talents. I want to live a life of significance.”
But who do you talk to? Who understands that drive to contribute, to grow, to make this next chapter your most meaningful yet?
I understand. I’m living it too. And I’ve walked with others through similar transitions—helping them make sense of their purpose, rediscover their voice, and use their lives fully, for good.
If This Speaks to You…
If you feel like there’s something more inside you waiting to be expressed…
If you’re willing to learn, grow, and explore what’s next with honesty and heart…
If you’re tired of having no one to talk to who really gets it…
Reach out.
I offer a space of trust, insight, and encouragement—backed by experience, guided by faith, and fueled by a genuine desire to help.
Because like Chuck, I believe:
You are wonderful.
You deserve multitudes.
